Native to the rainforests of Southern Mexico and Guatemala, the Neanthe Bella Palm (Chamaedorea elegans) or Parlor Palm is known for its air purifying properties and ability to adapt to lower light conditions.

This plant should be placed outside of direct light to ward off leaf-scorching. Neanthe Bella Palm is tolerant of lower light, although more leggy growth may occur as a consequence. Aim to keep this plant in a bright, indirect light location a few feet away from a window facing south, west, or east; if the window faces north, the plant may go directly in.

Neanthe Bella Palms require lightly moist soil, with periods of dryness between waterings. To check soil moisture, examine the top 1” - 2” inches; water when the soil is dry, usually every 7 - 10 days. Too much moisture may result in root rot, and too little may cause brown and crispy leaves. Establish a watering routine by checking the soil weekly.
